In these regulations, unless the content otherwise requires -

"Act" means the Fisheries Conservation and Management Act;

"AWLS" means an automated weighing and labelling system, and refers to electronic systems provided and, or approved by the Director for the weighing and labelling of fish, and installed at fish landing places as required by the Director; "Department" means the Department responsible for fisheries and aquaculture; "Director" means the officer responsible for fisheries and aquaculture; "Fishing Vessels Register" means the register of local fishing vessels kept by the Director in terms of regulation 8; "Minister" means the Minister responsible for fisheries and aquaculture; "satellite-tracking device" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in Article 2(9) of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 404/2011 of 8 April 2011 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 1224/2009 establishing a Community control system for ensuring compliance with the rules of the Common Fisheries Policy, as in force from time to time.
