Cap. 12 Art. 962Effect of joinder of third party.

The third party joined in the suit shall be served with the application, whether sworn or not, and shall for all purposes be considered as a defendant; and as such he shall be entitled to file any written pleading, raise any plea and avail himself of any other benefit which the law allows to a defendant; and the claim may, according to circumstances, be allowed or disallowed in his regard, as if he were an original defendant.
