(1) The functions of a central authority under the

Conventions, hereinafter referred to as ''the central authority'', shall be discharged by such office, department or authority as may from time to time be designated for the purpose by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

(2) The central authority shall also have the functions, powers and duties assigned to it by or under this Act.
