Cap. 569 Art. 52Prohibition of payment.

(1) Any person who makes or gives, or agrees or offers to make or give, or receives or agrees to receive, or attempts to obtain any payment or other reward for or in consideration of any arrangements for a foster care placement shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction be liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than three months and not exceeding six months or to a fine the offence was committed.

(2) For the purposes of this article, the making of any arrangements for the placement of a child in foster care shall not include any payments made for the maintenance of the child or remuneration to professionals for services rendered by them.
