S.L. 164.1 Art. 11Messes.

(1) The Commissioner may keep at the Police Head

Quarters a mess for members of the Force not below the rank of Inspector, styled "the Officers’ Mess", and another mess for members of the Force below the rank of Inspector, styled "the Other Ranks’ Canteen".

(2) Both the Officers’ Mess and the Other Ranks’ Canteen shall be managed in accordance with such directives as may be given by the Commissioner from time to time.

(3) Membership of the Officers’ Mess shall be compulsory and on subscription, provided, however, that the subscription fee in respect of officers holding a particular rank shall not be increased without the consent of the majority of the officers of that rank. Membership of the Other Ranks’ Canteen shall be voluntary and on no subscription.

(4) The accounts of the Officers’ Mess and the Other Ranks Canteen shall be audited annually by officers appointed for that purpose by the Commissioner.
