(1) For the purpose of Article 15 of the Convention, in the application of Article 6 of the Convention to a ship with a tonnage less than 300 tons that Article shall have effect as if -

(a) Article 6(1)(a)(i) refers to 1,000,000 Units of Account; and

(b) Article 6(1)(b)(i) refers to 500,000 Units of Account.

(2) For the purpose of this regulation and for the purposes of Article 6 of the Convention, the tonnage of a ship shall be its gross tonnage calculated in accordance with the Merchant Shipping

(Tonnage) Regulations.
