S.L. 234.17 Art. 12Revalidation of certificates and endorsements.

(1) The certificate or endorsement of a master or other officer issued under regulation 3 shall not be valid for seagoing service unless revalidated at intervals not exceeding five years to establish continued professional competence in accordance with section A-I/11 of the STCW Code.

(2) For continuing seagoing service on ships referred to in the Second Schedule, every master and officer shall successfully complete approved relevant training at intervals not exceeding five years.
