Any certificate of competency issued under the 2001 * Regulations shall retain its full validity until such time that the holder of the relevant certificate undergoes appropriate training to comply with the requirements of the Convention and is issued with a certificate of competence under these regulations, but in no case beyond the 31st December 2016.
