S.L. 327.220 Art. 3Provision of free instruction.

(1) It shall be the duty of the State to take appropriate measures to ensure that free tuition is given to children of migrant workers in a State school in order to facilitate their initial reception in the educational environment and the school system of Malta as the host State, including, in particular, the teaching, as adapted to the specific needs of such children, of any of the official languages Malta.

(2) The State shall take measures, within reasonable limits, to facilitate the eventual re-integration of the children of migrant workers into their Agreement States of origin, by promoting the teaching of both the mother tongue and the culture of the country of origin of such children in cooperation with such country of origin.
