S.L. 327.695 Art. 5Eligibility to offer Ph.D. Degrees

(1) Faculties may accept applicants to register for

Ph.D. Degrees after it is ascertained by Senate that the Faculty can provide suitable facilities for the proposed research as well as supervisors who can provide regular and proper supervision taking into account their academic record, expertise and other commitments.

(2) Faculties may offer the following Doctor of Philosophy Degrees as specified in Faculty Bye-laws:

(a) Doctor of Philosophy degree; and

(b) Doctor of Philosophy degree by Practice as Research.
