S.L. 427.23 Art. 35Application dates for EC type- approval.

(1) As regards EC type-approval, the approval authority shall grant EC approval to new types of vehicle from the dates specified in Schedule XIX.

(2) On application by the manufacturer, the approval authority may grant EC approval to new types of vehicle from the date of the entry into force of these regulations.

(3) At the request of the manufacturer, and until the dates specified in column 3 of rows 6 and 9 of the table set out in Schedule XIX, the Vehicle Registration Authority shall continue to grant national type-approvals as an alternative to EC vehicle type-approval for vehicles of category M or M on the condition that 2 3 those vehicles and their systems, components and separate technical units have been type-approved in accordance with the regulatory acts listed in Schedule IV, Part I.

(4) These regulations shall not invalidate any EC type-approval granted to vehicles of category M before the date of coming into 1 force of these regulations nor prevent the extension of such approvals.

(5) As regards the EC approval of new types of systems, components or separate technical units, these regulations shall apply from the date of coming into force of these regulations. These regulations shall not invalidate any EC type-approval granted for systems, components or separate technical units before the date of coming into force of these regulations nor prevent the extension of such approvals.
