S.L. 427.23 Art. 4Approval authority.

(1) For the purposes of these regulations, the Regulatory Affairs Directorate of the Malta Standards Authority shall act as the approval authority in Malta.

(1A) The Technical Regulations Division of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority is the approval authority and the market surveillance authority within the meaning of UNECE Regulation No 124.

(2) The approval authority in Malta shall ensure that manufacturers applying for EC type-approval comply with their obligations under these regulations.

(3) The approval authority in Malta shall approve only such vehicles, systems, components or separate technical units as satisfy the requirements of these regulations.
