(1) In order to facilitate market surveillance and prevent the counterfeiting of specific items of marine equipment, identified by means of delegated acts issued in accordance with Article 37 of Directive 2014/90/EU by the European Commission, manufacturers may use an appropriate and reliable form of electronic tag instead of, or in addition to, the wheel mark.
