Cap. 234 Art. 39AValidity of a mortgage or assignment of a mortgage. 

The mortgage or assignment of a mortgage of a Malta registered ship shall not be valid in respect of such ship, against any person other than the mortgagor, his successors and, or assignees and persons having actual notice thereof until the instrument evidencing such transaction is registered in accordance with article 39.
