A member who contravenes any of the provisions of this

Act or of any regulations made thereunder or of any provision of the statute of the society, and any member who acts in any way detrimental to the interests of the society, may be expelled from the society: Provided that the statute of a society may provide for a different procedure for the expulsion of members, as long as such procedure provides for the giving to the person charged reasonable notice of the charge and an opportunity to make representations and to present evidence against the charge.
