Cap. 9 Art. 442Allowances to witnesses on behalf of accused admitted to free legal aid.

Where the defence of the accused has been conducted by the Advocate for Legal Aid, the allowances due to the witnesses actually produced on behalf of the accused shall be paid by the

Government at the same rates fixed for witnesses for the prosecution, provided the Advocate for Legal Aid shall affirm on oath that, in his opinion, the evidence of the said witnesses was relevant for the defence, and provided also that, in view of his poverty, the accused has not the means of paying such allowances.
