(1) Every book borrowed from the library shall, unless the

Librarian in any particular case gives permission to retain the book for a longer period, be returned to the library within twenty-one days after the day on which it was borrowed.

(2) Where a book is returned in accordance with sub-regulation

(1) of this regulation, it may be borrowed again by the borrower for a further period of twenty-one days unless it is required by another borrower.
