Cap. 161 Art. 25Appropriation of revenueforsinking fund.

(1) Within the period specified in the directions of the Minister responsible for finance under article 6 as the period within which contributions to the sinking fund for any loan shall commence, the Minister responsible for finance shall appropriate out of the general revenue and assets of the Government of Malta a sum determined in accordance with the rate specified in those directions as the contribution to the sinking fund established for the purpose of redeeming that loan and shall thereafter make a like appropriation in each half year ending with the date specified in those directions for the payment of the half-yearly interest on any stock or securities issued in respect of that loan.

(2) The Minister may further authorise the appropriation out of the general revenue and assets of the Government of Malta a contribution towards a special sinking fund established in accordance with article 26(2).
