A person to whom a National Commemorative Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, or a Long and Efficient Service

Medal has been awarded, shall be entitled to wear the medal in accordance with the rules made under this Act.

referred to as the Committee, appointed by the Prime Minister, for such term and under such conditions as the Prime Minister may determine, to propose candidates for membership of the Xirka, the

Order and for the award of medals; the Secretary to the Cabinet shall be the Chairman of this Committee. One member of this

Committee shall be appointed after consultation with the Leader of the Opposition.

(2) In proposing candidates to the Prime Minister, the Committee shall ensure that a nomination meets the criteria for admission to the membership of the Xirka or the Order, or for the award of a medal as the case may be, and, for this purpose, the Committee shall have power to regulate its own procedure.
