S.L. 276.3 Art. 3Scheduled countries. S.L. 276.02

(1) Those countries listed in the Schedule (hereinafter referred to as "scheduled countries") are hereby being designated as foreign countries for the purposes of article 6 of the relevant Act and any arrangement with any such countries applicable to Malta before the relevant date by virtue of the provisions of article 30 of the said Act shall be deemed to have been revoked with effect from the relevant date.

(2) The provisions of the Extradition (Designated Foreign

Countries) Order, in so far as applicable to any scheduled country of before the relevant date and to the extent that they are inconsistent with the provisions of this Order, shall with effect from the relevant date no longer apply to any such country.

(3) Saving the provisions of subarticle (4), any scheduled country which before the relevant date was a designated Commonwealth country for the purposes of article 4 of the relevant Act shall on the relevant date be deemed to be no longer so designated.

(4) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Order, a scheduled country to which subarticle (3) applies shall, in respect of a territory for the external relations of which it is responsible, not being a territory listed in the Schedule, continue to be deemed a designated Commonwealth country and article 4(3) of the relevant Act shall be construed accordingly.
