S.L. 327.74 Art. 2

The aims of the Institute shall be:

(a) to promote the pursuit of interdisciplinary, academic studies on various aspects of Baroque culture by serving as a focal centre for both local and foreign scholars involved in research on various aspects of Baroque culture, enabling them to disseminate their work among both fellow academics and the general public;

(b) to organise symposiums, public lectures series, exhibitions, photographic competitions and other activities leading to a greater appreciation of Baroque culture, with particular reference to Malta;

(c) to network and liaison with similar centres for Baroque studies overseas;

(d) to initiate and constitute a research resource centre on Baroque art and architecture, including a data base and reference index of existing publications on the Baroque era with special emphasis on the Maltese Baroque; and

(e) to provide advice and assistance in the conservation of the Baroque heritage of Malta.
