Cap. 12 Art. 995Punishment for insults to court officers.

Any functionary, referee or other officer of the court, who is insulted in the execution of any warrant, or in the discharge of his duties, shall report the matter to the judge or magistrate, and the- contemner shall be liable to be by the judge or magistrate sentenced to a fine (ammenda or or to detention, saving any multa) other punishment, applicable by the competent court, to which the contemner may be liable if the fact constitutes a more serious offence, according to law.
