In such case, however, the issue of the remission or abatement of rent shall not be definitely settled except at the expiration of the lease, when another balance shall be struck of any excess and deficiency in respect of the crops gathered during the whole term of the lease, and no remission or abatement shall be granted if on striking such balance there shall remain a profit sufficient to reduce the loss sustained in the year mentioned in the demand to less than one-half of the rent.
