Cap. 16 Art. 961Contract may be bilateral or unilateral,

(1) A contract is synallagmatic or bilateral when the contracting parties bind themselves mutually the one towards the other.

(2) It is unilateral when one or more persons bind themselves towards one or more other persons without there being any obligation on the part of the latter.
