S.L. 220.7 Art. 8Selection of candidates.

Candidates shall be selected by means of entrance tests and an interview, to be held in such a manner as the Minister may determine and must -

(a) be citizens of Malta;

(b) be between the age of eighteen and forty-five years;

(c) be fit for full employment in the force; and

(d) be certified to possess such minimum medical standards as the Minister may from time determine:

Provided that members of the Individual Reserve Force or those who have terminated their engagement with the Regular Force and who are not older than fifty-six years may also apply to enlist in the Volunteer Reserve Force and shall be selected against such criteria as the Commander may from time to time determine.
