In these Bye-Laws unless the context otherwise requires:

"the Act" means the Local Government Act;

"containers of alcoholic beverages" includes bottles, glasses, cans and or any other container intended for the serving of any beverages;

"Council" means the Gżira Local Council;

"designated areas" means those areas designated by the competent authorities for the placement of tables and chairs exclusively for the consumption of food and beverages;

"locality" means the locality of Gżira as delineated in the Act;

"public place" means the streets, pavements, open spaces, squares, gardens, shores and promenade within the Gżira locality;
