S.L. 427.71 ст. 3Designation of the competent authority.

The Malta Standards Authority is hereby designated as the responsible national authority referred to in Regulation (EC) No

110/2008:

(a) for receiving any application for the registration of geographical indications in accordance with Article 17 of Regulation (EC) No 110/2008; and

(b) with respect to Article 24(1) of Regulation (EC) No 110/2008, for control in respect of the obligations established by Regulation (EC) No 110/2008 in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 882/2004.
