Compressor

Any machine for use with interchangeable equipment which gasses or vapours to a pressure higher than the inlet pressure. comprises the bare compressor itself, the prime mover and any component supplied, which is necessary for safe operation of the compressor. Excluded are the following categories of device: - fans, i.e. devices producing air circulation at a positive more than 110 000 pascals - vacuum pumps, i.e. devices or appliances for extracting enclosed space at a pressure not exceeding atmospheric pressure - gas turbinc engines.
