S.L. 499.23 Art. 54Alteration of commercial vessel.

(1) No alteration affecting the tonnage or description of the vessel is permitted without the prior written approval of the

Authority.

(2) Before returning the commercial vessel to service after completion of such an approved alteration, the owner shall present the vessel for inspection at such place and time as appointed by the Authority.

(3) On such inspection as prescribed in sub-regulation (2), the Authority may either approve the continuing validity of the issued certificate or endorse lesser or greater conditions to the certificate or revoke the licence if the Authority deems that the vessel is no longer fit for its intended purpose.
