S.L. 549.59 Art. 14Measurements to be taken at rural location.

(1) In addition to the requirements of regulations 10, 11 and 12, the competent authority shall measure the concentration of group A pollutants, of group B pollutants, of group C pollutants, mercury and of ozone at a rural background location away from significant sources of air pollution.

(2) The competent authority shall also measure the total deposition of group B pollutants, group C pollutants and mercury at the background site.

(3) The competent authority shall use the readings from the background station in order to assess the total mass concentration and the chemical speciation of PM on an annual average basis. 2.5 The data quality objectives in Parts I and III of Section A of Schedule 1 shall apply for the mass concentration measurements of particulate matter. Schedule 4 shall apply in its entirety.
