For the purpose of these regulations, the genetic resources being provided by Malta are only those genetic resources for which

Malta is the country of origin or that Malta is a country providing genetic resources, having acquired such genetic resources in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, done at Rio de Janeiro on the fifth day of June 1992.
